I am now getting around to my blog site to share with you my experience at the annual graphic tee party put on by SYGU. It was Sunday evening and the night was just beginning. But I had a late start to the evening as the rain discouraged my first choice of apparel to accent my custom tee made by P.A.T.C.H.E.S. Clothing, a local clothing company who specializes in making customized graphic tees. And I didn't want my new do to get rained out. I ended up rocking a fake do or a hat as I like to call it but I was still fly!
I'm on Facebook on a daily and I'm constantly updating my statuses about crazy things I encounter or ranting about things that bother me. As much as I respect Beyonce as an artist, her songs can get quite annoying. Especially here in STL. She has this song called "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)" and I swear when I first heard it, I got sea sick from all of the unnecessary background noise and effects, her annoying voice and the whining-ness to the song. So to make a parody of the song, the first thing that came to mind was, "If you don't like that your girl is preggo, shoulda put a nuva ring on it." Thus, my custom tee was born. The question was, who could make such a tee? I wanted the Nuva Ring lady logo on it AND I wanted those words on it. So I called on DMG of P.A.T.C.H.E.S. and he had B Reason work his magic and my tee was complete. I had to give it to them, P.A.T.C.H.E.S. hooked it up! I picked up my tee Saturday night and was good to go!
So we get to Club 15teen and the place was so packed, they couldn't let anyone else upstairs. So me and my girls had to stay downstairs for some time while our other friends partied it up in the VIP Booth upstairs. In the meanwhile, I am greeting fellow comrades, giving hugs, kisses and mean mugs (at this bald headed heffa that tried to start a fight with me and my friends at SLeeK Friday night). The men's shirts were very raunchy while the women's shirts were cute, thought provoking and bold statements. All the women gave me high fives and daps on my tee while the men stared hard trying to figure out what a Nuva Ring was. It was probably the hottest spring night I had in awhile as 1000+ people filled the space of Club 15teen. I was mos def a night to remember and even better than last year. I had a BLAST!
